Children Need to Know their Ancestry this Holiday. By Dickson Tumuramye   The holiday has started and it may seem short especially where children have a lot of school assignments to accomplish before going back to school. But at least first term holiday is never busy like other holidays except the December holiday. Don’t miss the opportunity to plan variety activities you can achieve with your children. One of the things you can plan is to let your children discover their ancestral roots. Create time and take them to the village to visit their relatives whom they only interact with on phone. Fortunately these may include your parents, uncles and aunties. They only hear and know that this uncle/aunt is there but they have never known each other physically. If all your family members are in town, then bless God. Live Within Your Means. By Dickson Tumuramye  The trinity semester starts shortly after some students have just completed Easter/Jan. semester. This sometimes may seem costly on the side of the parents who within a short period of time are again paying your tuition fee.  This time it has been worsened by the delayed rains and parents whose income largely depends on agriculture are more affected. This   could mean that you may not get expected full support from your parents/guardians. Other students depend on assistance from sponsors/donors, well-wishers, church, financial aid office etc. You may not be in the above category where things don't work out well for some. You parents could be able to provide whatever you put on your list. What I can tell you is that you are very lucky. Whatever the case, there is still need to remember to live within your means. Preparing Children for the Future By Dickson Tumuramye They say that two parents can raise two children but two children cannot even look after one parent these days. Why would this happen yet even in poverty, a parent can manage to raise children who may now be doing well? Where is a problem? Parents like working hard for their children because we all want a brighter future for them. This makes us work hard to ensure that we have invested enough for them to live a better life. I am sure it is one of the reasons why we carry out bigger capital investments, stay late in offices, advance in career, make sure we have jobs by all means, toil to make ends meet among others.
